Introducing our new Basketweaving Commitee Director Ellen Sue Schneider.
Ellen Sue is a weaver of both contemporary and traditional baskets. She was taught contemporary basketry about 20 years ago by her aunt and tribal elder, Teeter Marie Romero. She was taught traditional weaving through the Idyllwild Summer Arts academy years 2015, 2016, and 2017 by instructor, Rose Ann Hamilton. Ellen Sue received a scholarship through the Heard museum artist workshop in 2015, Instructor, Abe Sanchez and Rose Ann Hamilton. She holds basket weaving events at OC libraries, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Panhe, and the Ecology Center SJC. Currently, she holds demonstrations at the Mission San Juan Capistrano the 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Ellen Sue looks forward to sharing and learning from all interested.
